New GP PowerShell cmdlet

Posted by:

Well, I’ve created a new PowerShell cmdlet to go along with my get-SDMgpo cmdlet. Its called new-SDMgpo, and its purpose in life is to let you use PowerShell to create new GPOs. As with the previous cmdlet I created, it requires GPMC to be installed where it runs since it leverages the GPMC APIs. You can get more info and download it from the Powershell page at our GPOGUY.COM site.

WPA2 policy support in XP

Posted by:

This topic came up on a newsgroup the other day, prompting me to look around a bit. Basically, MS added support for the newer WPA2 encryption protocol for wireless networks in XP, SP2. This KB article describes the Wireless Client update that you can apply to your XP systems to get them to process those WPA2 policies. But here’s the catch–this update only allows these systems to process the wireless policies. It does not allow them to actually edit those ...

Well, I’m back from TechEd and settling back into the work groove. If you weren’t there, well I’m here to tell you that TechEd is one BIG show. I heard numbers of people ranging from 12,000 to 13,000. The Orlando Convention Center redefines big as well. I’m told it can hold 120,000 conference goers. Although I think this year they seemed to be a little smarter about organizing things, because it seemed like I wasn’t walking so much. However, ...
